Healthy, sustainable and flexible construction

An elegant and timeless office building sits on the corner of Parnassusweg and Gustav Mahlerlaan. The building offers state-of-the-art office space to companies looking for a characteristic environment in the Amsterdam Zuidas district.

NoMA House (approximately 16,500 m2 gross floor area) was developed by Maarsen Group and Beheer Brouwershoff. Architects Dam and Partners were responsible for the design, DWA is involved as building services consultant and BREEAM expert, and we are also responsible for the commissioning. Because of its central location, NoMa House forms a beautiful new landmark in the heart of the Zuidas business district.

BREEAM Excellent

Sustainability was high up on the agenda during the design phase of the building. In the meantime, the building has been awarded the BREEAM-NL Excellent design certification. NoMA House is sustainably heated from the Amsterdam’s heat network. The roofs fully benefit from PV cells for the generation of sustainable electricity. LED lighting, presence detection and daylight control ensure a further reduction of energy consumption.

Active pursuit of a sustainable building not only took place during the design and realisation of NoMA House, but also during the exploitation phase. For example, after commissioning, the performance of the building services and the quality of the indoor climate were continuously monitored and optimised.

A healthy building with high quality comfort

NoMA House takes advantage of natural daylight and fresh air wherever possible. This has resulted in a healthy building with high quality comfort (climate Class A). The emissions of harmful substances are actively prevented by using the right materials in and around the building.

Due to the high degree of flexibility, new layout concepts can easily be realised in the future.
